We all hate bugs and we certainly don’t want them in our home. Finding bugs in your home can be a cause for major concern and should be taken care of immediately. These tiny creatures spread quickly and feed on human blood at night. They must be both identified and then eliminated quickly to avoid having them spread throughout your entire home. If you believe there is a chance that you may have introduced bed bugs into your Tequesta house, call Nozzle Nolen immediately and let the experienced bed bug control specialists remove them from your home.

Bed bugs are tiny parasitic insects that feed on blood for survival purposes. They get their common name because they are typically found in beds, but it is important to understand that they can also be found on public transportation, in clothing, in furniture, and other places that people often frequent. Bed bugs prefer to feed on human blood and look to feed at night when a person goes to bed. Fortunately, there are a few ways to identify bed bugs:

  • Look for the bugs themselves. Bed bugs appear to be tiny black specks on a light-colored mattress or sheets. Some people have described them as looking like an apple seed that moves around.

  • Be aware of bites. Bed bugs feed on human blood at night and must latch onto your skin to do so. This leaves red bumps that look like a rash on the skin.

  • Note that a rash alone should not immediately make you assume that you have bed bugs, but combined with other signs it can act as confirmation.

  • Rust colored spots. Bed bugs are messy eaters, and will periodically leave blood spots behind while feeding.

The EPA says that bed bugs are about the thickness of a credit card, meaning they can hide nearly anywhere. Other than in the bed, they love to hide on window sills, in electrical outlet covers, and the many nooks and crannies of your home. They can travel up to 20 feet to the bed in order to feed nightly.

If you identify an infestation of bed bugs in your Tequesta home, get in touch with Nozzle Nolen immediately. It is very important to take care of the problem before it spreads throughout the rest of your home. Take care of an infestation quickly and help limit the financial burden associated with removing these pests from your home.
